What do you need before you start?
Have a few dog waste bags, disposable gloves or a poo scoop, kitchen roll or disposable cloths, a soft artificial grass brush, water and your chosen lawn cleaner ready. Keep a separate bag for used cloths so they do not end up back on the grass.
Pick up visible waste promptly. The NHS advises picking up and binning dog poo quickly, and washing hands after gardening. 1. Lift the solid waste without pushing it into the pile

Bag used cloths and clean the scoop or reusable brush afterwards. If children play on the lawn, check the surrounding area for anything carried across by shoes or paws.
3. Rinse gently and check the drainage
Once the visible waste is gone, use a little clean water to wash away light residue. Let the area drain before applying a cleaner. Artificial grass laid on a balcony, concrete or decking may drain differently from a lawn with a permeable base; avoid flooding an area where water has nowhere to go.
If water keeps pooling, the lawn may also have an installation or drainage issue. A cleaning product cannot repair the base beneath the grass. For ordinary maintenance, avoid directing a pressure washer jet at the turf: it can disturb the fibres, infill or underlying installation.
