How Our Artificial Grass Cleaner Works
Our bespoke cleaning solutions Take 3 Simple Approaches to Control Pet Odour – The ground breaking consistency of our products ensures each product binds to blades of your artificial grass and is not simply washed away.
Step 1
Apply the Artificial Grass Cleaner
As you apply the GreenBlade product thoroughly over your artificial grass, the specific fragrance in our products give you an immediate sense of relief and reduce malodour.
Step 2
Break Down Odour-Causing Residue
Our enzymatic formula features oxidizing technology that breaks apart the odour causing molecules, leaving your artificial grass smelling fresh and clean.
Step 3
Neutralise the Source of the Odour
Organic matter, such as proteins, not only in artificial grass but also other areas of the garden are broken down using the GreenBlade enzymes which will prevent the odour from continuing at its source.
Which GreenBlade product suits your garden?
Start with the problem you want to solve and the surface beneath your artificial grass.
- Active Max
For Persistent Dog Urine Odours

Starting from £24.99
- Cleanse
For regular artificial grass cleaning
Build cleaning into your garden routine with Cleanse. Its bio-enzymatic formula is designed for ongoing artificial grass maintenance, with application guidance that addresses the grass backing and the base beneath it. Check your installation and the product instructions before treatment.
Starting from £14.99
- Green Guard
For Artificial Grass Over Hard Surfaces
Is your artificial grass laid over concrete, a patio or decking? Green Guard’s thicker formula is designed to cling to the grass blades, making it an option for hard-base installations where drainage is limited.

- Pure Pro
Looking for a garden sanitiser?
Pure Pro is GreenBlade’s separate biocidal sanitiser for artificial grass and suitable outdoor hard surfaces. It is a different treatment from the enzyme range. Do not combine it with Active Max, Cleanse or Green Guard; follow its own label and application guidance.

How does an enzyme cleaner for artificial grass work?
GreenBlade’s enzyme cleaners are formulated to break down organic residues associated with unpleasant smells. The aim is to treat the material contributing to odour within the artificial grass, alongside leaving a fresh scent. Choosing the right formula and following its application instructions are part of that process.
1. Reach the area that needs treatment
The cleaner must contact the affected grass. Your installation matters: a formula intended to reach the backing and base has a different role from a thicker treatment designed for grass over hard surfaces.
2. Treat odour-causing residue
The enzyme range targets organic residue associated with pet odours. Apply the selected product as directed so it reaches the areas that need attention.
3. Keep up your cleaning routine
New pet waste and garden debris mean that artificial grass still needs care. Remove debris regularly and follow an appropriate cleaning routine for the way your garden is used.
Getting started with your cleaner
Check your product and installation. Read the bottle label, dilution instructions and precautions for the cleaner you have chosen.
Prepare the lawn. Remove solid pet waste and loose debris, then brush the fibres upright.
Apply as directed. Follow the product-specific instructions for preparation, equipment, dilution and coverage.
Let the treated area dry fully. Keep children and pets away during treatment and until the area is completely dry. Follow all other label precautions.

Your artificial grass cleaner questions answered
Which GreenBlade product should I consider for dog urine odours?
Start with Active Max when persistent pet odours are your main concern. If your grass is laid over a hard surface, also check Green Guard’s installation guidance before choosing.
Can children and pets use the lawn after treatment?
Follow the selected product’s label and safety precautions. GreenBlade’s application guidance requires the treated area to dry fully before people and pets return. Keep concentrated products out of children’s reach.
Which cleaner is intended for artificial grass over decking or concrete?
Green Guard is designed for this type of installation. Its thicker consistency helps it stay on the grass blades where drainage into a conventional base is limited.
How do I choose the right bottle size?
Measure your lawn and check your selected product’s dilution and coverage guidance. Different formulas and installations have different requirements. If you are unsure, use Find my cleaner or contact GreenBlade before ordering.
Can I use Pure Pro together with the enzyme cleaners?
No. GreenBlade’s instructions state that Pure Pro must not be used with Active Max, Cleanse or Green Guard because its biocidal action can interfere with the biological treatment. Ask GreenBlade for product-specific advice if changing treatments.
Where can I find product instructions?
Open the relevant product page for application guidance and safety precautions, and read the label before use. Safety data sheets are available on request.
