Handy Tips
If you are still unsure of the best method to apply any of our GreenBlade products we have some handy hints and tips that may help you combat the nasties in your artificial grass, garden and outdoor space. Let’s break it down step by step:
OK, let’s get started – we strongly recommend you brush or broom your artificial grass before applying any GreenBlade product. This will stand your grass blades upright and will allow the product to reach every blade and the grass backing.
GreenBlade Green Guard has been produced as a thicker formula so it will not saturate and soak any sub base below the grass blades themselves. It will still get to work on the odours and bacteria like our other GreenBlade products but it will cling to the blades which has been designed for artificial grass that has been laid on hard surfaces where there is no drainage. Green Guard is especially good for artificial grass that is being utilised inside buildings such as gymnasiums, kennels, commercial outlets and the hospitality trade. Likewise, it’s ideal on grass laid over patios or decking. You will still get the benefits of the cleaning process but it wont soak or rot any sub base below.
Don’t forget to shake the bottle and product well. This will bring the bio-enzymes to life so they are ready for action. The bio-enzymes will settle in the bottle over time so a good shake will wake!
The mix ratios are listed but we do recommend that you use sufficient GreenBlade product. In fact you can’t use too much to eradicate all the bacteria and odours. Don’t forget the bio-enzymes are only full active when they come into contact with water.
Using a watering can or pump sprayer dependant on the grass installation and its specific location to then apply GreenBlade Green Guard. Remember it’s a thicker solution so apply directly and close to the grass blades and let the magic happen as the bio-enzymes get to work and fight off bacteria and odours.
Once you have applied sufficient product to your grass area (making sure all areas have been covered – not just certain spots) it’s time for a well-earned rest for five to ten minutes or so. Let the product get to work as it fights off all those nasty odours and bacteria. Its then time for another brush or broom of the artificial grass and to work the product into the fibres. We advise working backward so your grass looks upright (with no foot prints), smelling fresh, vibrant and looking like new.
And here’s another couple of reminders to finish:
• Allow sufficient time for it to dry before people and pets to use the treated area.
• There is no need to rinse the grass after you have applied the product as this will only dilute the product further and will make it weaker.
• You can repeat the process if necessary, until all odours have been digested.
• DO NOT USE GreenBlade Green Guard in hot, direct sunlight, as this will evaporate the enzymes before they can get to work.
• You can use GreenBlade Green Guard, GreenBlade Cleanse and GreenBlade Active Max with each other as they are pro-biotics and have live bio-enzymes in them.
YOU CANNOT USE GreenBlade Pure Pro with these as it is a biocide and it will break down the live bio-enzymes and they can’t do their work.
Directions & Application Information
Shake well before use
If the area to be treated contains pet faeces, remove these prior to treatment.
We recommend brushing or raking your artificial grass to stand the blades upright. Use a hosepipe to water and evenly coat the artificial grass before applying GreenBlade Green Guard. The product will seep into the grass backing due to Green Guard’s thicker solution.
For use on traditional artificial grass base:
We recommend a dilution ratio of 1 part product to 5 parts water to treat up to a 20²m area, depending on how strong you feel the odours present are.
For artificial grass on hard standing (over concrete, patios, or decking):
We recommend a dilution ratio of 1 part product to 2 parts water to treat up to a 10²m area, depending on how strong you feel the odours present are.
You cannot use too much product to eradicate bacteria or odour, as coverage will very much depend on the degree of contamination.
Apply GreenBlade Green Guard using a watering can, pump sprayer, or snow foam lance bottle. It is important to apply the solution to the entire area (not just isolated spots) to ensure the product comes into direct contact with all areas of contamination. Enzymes are only fully active when diluted with water. Apply evenly.
Finish by brushing or brooming the artificial grass to agitate and work the product through the blades. Allow sufficient time for the whole area to dry fully before allowing pets and people to use the treated area. There is no need to rinse after application. Repeat, if necessary, until all odours and stains have been completely digested.
